I played here several years ago with my father and what a treat it was. Since then, the course has drastically declined. The bunkers were hardly anything of that sort, the fairways were very weathered, and the clubhouse check in was unwelcoming. I cannot justify the price tag of $74.99, the only positive is the true rolling greens. Charging a $10 fee for a ride along in a cart is also a rip off. The maintenance staff were very unobservant of players approaching despite efforts of giving a heads up, they also did not respect addressing of shots, following too closely, and talking while shots were being attempted. To be fair, the course is worth maybe $39.99 in shoulder season and should consider closing for winter months to look the way it should in spring.
Excellent course to host a tournament. Course was in great shape for the intense heat we have been getting here along the gulf coast. The cart girls were inattentive and we got beverages timely!
Great course, we'll be back! A message to the Marshall though, it wasn't a busy day of players, but also to allow a couple twosomes shortly behind our foursome, we felt pressured to speed up all the time, which is aggravating. Spread out your groups so we can all enjoy our course time. Thx
Mosquitoes were brutal, course was not in great shape except for the greens and the staff was unfriendly and unaccommodating(Was at a trade show working, could only make it to the course for around 2:00pm and last 18 hole reservations are at 2:00, we called asking if we were to show up around 2:10 if we could still pay for 18 and play until sun down and were told to kick rocks). Marshall was reasonably nice but the man at the front desk was flat out rude and made empty passive aggressive threats. Came from out of town for a trade show at the Moody Gardens convention center and paid 45$ for rentals and 45$ for 9 holes, came out to 125$ CAD! Given the price and the low quality of service, if you are staying at or around the Moody Gardens I would recommend venturing out a little further or skipping golf altogether.
Really well kept golf course. SUPER friendly staff and food selection at the turn. Highly recommend as one of the best courses in the area!
Highly rated in Dallas morning news if top 50 in the state. Glad I drove down from San Antonio. Friendly staff, good size putting green and driving range. Course was in great condition. Greens ran true and smooth. Challenging course, more water hazards on back 9 than front. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
First time playing here as I was visiting from out of town. Reasonable rate of $45 for a Saturday. The course is challenging because there are some narrow fairways. I was upset that they didn't advise me on the pro shop that holes 8 and 9 with par 4s were turned into par 3s. Hole 8 was 100 yds and home 9 was on 65. This is something they should offer discounts for. Lots of water on this course and some very thick grass and rough. It's tough finding your ball if it's not in the short stuff. Plenty of sand on the course as well. I'd play it again but I will say that it's nothing special to drive out of your way for. The course was in good shape from tees to greens. Plan on getting plenty of sun because there is no shade on this course. Go check it out and see for yourself.
Awesome course, and very challenging!
I love this golf course ❤️
